A Week at the Sheraton

We spent about 1 week looking for preschools for Ellie and searching for neighborhoods to live when we're done at Stanford. The first school that we visited allowed Ellie to join the class, and she loved it. From then on, she begged to sit in the class when we toured a school. About two months ago, she told me, "Mommy, I'm ready to go to learning school." So, we hope she will have like her new school next year. She will be going 2 to 3 days a week until midafternoon.

Grandma watched Kevin while Ellie, Chris and I went to the schools. Ellie also stayed with Grandma when we toured the city with the real estate agent. They loved going to the play structure at the mall, eating cookies, and swimming in the pool. Chris and I even got a chance to go out for dinner with one of his colleagues.

As far as houses or neighborhoods, we decided that we should rent for the first 6 months to a year. We have a lot to learn about where we want to be. It would have been nice to figure it all out and decide to buy a house before we moved. It's not going to work that way, but we hope to feel more comfortable with our decision when we finally buy a house!
