Sesame Street Live!

We went to see Sesame Street Live today! As soon as Elmo and his friends came on stage, Ellie started shaking, grabbed my neck and said, "Get me out of this place!" She was really scared at first, but Chris was able to calm her down, and she really enjoyed the show!

EV Carnival!

Escondido Village (graduate student housing) held a carnival on Saturday! We had popcorn, hot dogs, and juice. We petted pigs, goats, geese, rabbits, and ducks! We toured a fire truck and police cars, and we watched a magic show!

Football Tournament!

Chris organized a 4 on 4 football tournament to benefit Special Olympics. Even though this was the first year for the event, fourteen teams signed up to play! He did a great job planning and leading everything. Of course he also made sure he could play a few games as well! Chris's team came in 2nd place. Ellie is shown here playing with stickers and lining up cones - more organizing!

Cooking with Mommy!

Ellie loves to help me cook. We ofen pull out the step stool, get out her small cutting board and her plastic shark knife, put on her red apron, and cook! Here, she is cutting bananas. This helps keep preparing dinner relaxing for both of us!

Ellie's Brother - 28 weeks...

28 weeks and all is good, so far!

In other good news, my rosacea (AKA my pregnancy curse) seems to have virtually disappeared! I dont know where it went, but I'm not asking for it to come back (even though I'm sure it will)! It must be from all the mint chocolate chip ice cream I've been eating!!!

Those of you who guessed I was pregnant based on my facial appearance before I made the announcement would never be able to guess if you saw me today... Well, I guess the big belly would give it away now!!

Party Time!

Ellie set out many of her animals on a blanket and served each one of them lunch. She even had conversations with them and used a high-pitched voice to pretend they were answering her! When the party was over, she sang the "clean up" song and put everything away with me even asking. If only it were that easy when cleaning up is my idea!!

Rub a dub dub

Ellie washed each of her tub toys with "mommy and daddy's soap" while I was downstairs getting her milk. Then she proudly lined them up in a row! She often organizes things into nice, neat rows. She must get that from Chris!!

Pool Time!

On Wednesday, our neighbors got our their pool, and we had a party! Ellie was scared of the pool and didn't stay in for long!

Half Moon Bay

We went to Half Moon Bay with friends on Tuesday. We found a starfish, picniced in the sand, and walked in the tide pools! The kids had a great time, and the moms were exhausted by the end!

Oh, and Ellie has this bad habit of picking the skin off her lip. She has been doing it for months! One of these pics is on here just to document this habit, which we can't seem to stop!

Water Play, Pillow Fun, Cookies, Eggs, Toast-A-Thon

Water Balloons and Sprinklers... Ellie was scared of the sprinklers, but we finally convinced her to at least try a sip since she didn't want to run in them!

Ellie and I made cookies on Saturday. She enjoyed tasting the flour, salt, and baking soda mixture. She kept saying... "It's yummy!"

Mommy's little helpers... Chris and Ellie are vacuuming for me since my back was hurting!

Ellie 's first simile... She crushed her egg yolk with her hand, and it broke into chunks. Then, excitedly she said, "My hand is like a knife (or yife)!" This pic is after her hand had become like a mallet!

Ellie, Arden, and Lauren had a great time on Thursday's playdate... We put the couch pillows on the floor, and the kids jumped and danced to Ellie's CD from music class. "Where, oh where, oh where is Suzie... Way down yonder in the paw-paw patch..."

Ellie and Arden get a little crazy! What a surprise!
The Great Toast-A-Thon... Last Sunday, Ellie had 6 pieces of toast for brunch. That's a lot of carbs for a two-year old! Her great grandfather, my pawpaw, would appreciate this story since he loves to tell the tale of when I ate an entire loaf of bread - or something like that!
